Morocco and our producers

The relationship between our suppliers and TERRA Provence is essential. It is based on three essential pillars: knowledge, trust and the fight against andthe fight against adulteration.

This is illustrated by the recent visits to Morocco by our suppliers and future suppliers, which are of vital importance in environmental, economic and social terms.

During our recent visit to the Atlas Mountains, we were able to see at close hand how cedar is harvested and its impact on deforestation. This majestic species is essential to the local ecosystem, helping to maintain the emblematic mago monkey population, and turning the sawdust from the cut wood into essential oil.

By meeting essential oil suppliers, we were able to gain a better understanding of production processes and the importance of traceability, which not only guarantees product quality but also preserves natural resources.

Visits to the rose, neroli and other plant cultivations also enabled us to appreciate the artisanal techniques used, which respect both the environment and local traditions. These practices contribute to the enhancement of ancestral know-how while supporting the local economy. We were also able to meet the wild plant gatherers involved in the production of essential oils from wild crops. These men, often from rural communities, play a crucial role in the harvesting of aromatic plants, and their know-how is indispensable in guaranteeing the sustainability and quality of essential oils. These visits are therefore not only an opportunity to learn about production methods, but also underline the importance of ethical and responsible trade. By supporting suppliers who adopt sustainable practices, we contribute to the preservation of the Moroccan environment, the protection of fragile ecosystems and the well-being of local communities.

In short, these enriching exchanges are essential to promoting an essential oils industry that is both respectful of nature and beneficial to those who depend on it.
