Our Laboratory...
We have integrated an analysis laboratory that follows a strict raw materials control plan (GC-FID, GC-MS, HPLC, etc.). Synonymous with independence, competence, responsiveness and greater depth of analysis, it enables us to ensure premium quality and detect any adulteration or cross-contamination, drawing on our 30 years of experience in the field. This new space is also our new R&D incubator, dedicated to the development of our customers' new projects.
Our New White Room...
Unpreserved hydrolats are fragile and require controlled filtration. To achieve this, we have built a new clean room. Equipped with a high-performance air filtration system connected to a ventilated extraction network, the confinement created inside protects our hydrolats from germs, mold and yeast during the filtration stage. In compliance with ISO 7 standards, we guarantee sterile filtration at 0.2 µm at the exit of our clean room. Microbiological analyses are carried out on each filtered batch and made available to our customers.
Our ecological distillery...
In order to increase our independence and flexibility to distill throughout the year, we decided to invest in two distillation units on our site. Far from wishing to compete with the distilleries of our close partners, we wanted above all to be able to produce mainly sensitive hydrolats all year round, in line with our customers' needs, to avoid prolonged storage of hydrolats, whose stability is complex.
Our extraction room...
The equipment in our extraction room enables us to produce high quality hydroalcoholic extracts, and to tailor-make extracts to meet our customers' specifications.
Our new extraction room is equipped with a wide range of high-performance stainless steel tools. This new investment enables us to produce high-quality hydroalcoholic extracts according to each customer's specifications. Indeed, the reduced size of our equipment allows us to be flexible with each customer, offering batches ranging from 20kg to 350kg. Optimization of the extraction process, thanks to the use of vacuum equipment, ensures that all the organoleptic qualities of the extracted raw materials are preserved without degradation.
Our storage space reinvented...
To preserve the quality of our products, we have reorganized our storage area with lying drums (see photo) and a systematic inert gas protection system. The use of food-grade argon or nitrogen to fill container voids guarantees product stability. Indeed, the oxidation of essential oils during storage, as well as the development of peroxides, is an important subject that Terra Provence has been considering and monitoring for some ten years. To comply with the requirements of regulations and our customers, we regularly analyze the oxidation of essential oils in stock, and the installation of this new system in our storage area enables us to achieve the desired performance in terms of the stability and quality of stored essential oils.
This inert gas is also used to preserve packaged products during shipment to our customers, with a stamped marking on the closure cap.
Our maceration room...
Our macerates are produced locally in our maceration workshop, specially equipped to accommodate all types of oils and macerates. We have designed this space optimally to facilitate our production and create high-quality products, with double filtration followed by analysis for all our macerates. The maceration room is fully cleanable after each production run to avoid cross-contamination between two productions.
Terra Provence: winner of the France 2030 Regionalized "Transforming SMEs through innovation" competition
As a follow-up to our various investments in equipment, which have oriented us towards a research and development approach, we have submitted a project to France 2030 Régionalisé: "Valorisation des sous-produits de la distillation grâce à leur caractérisation chimique, et leur utilisation en agriculture biologique" (Enhancing the value of distillation by-products through their chemical characterization, and their use in organic farming).
We obtained incentive funding to carry out this R&D project.
This innovation project aims to add value to locally produced distillation by-products, transforming them into innovative, sustainable and economical solutions for organic farmers.
Initially, this project will create two skilled jobs in the area, with the immediate recruitment of a doctor in chemistry and an agricultural engineer. At the end of the project, the increase in sales will also enable the hiring of several production employees: distillation, order preparation, etc.
It's also a real springboard for the company, enabling it to make a lasting commitment to R&D, secure the skilled positions mentioned, develop new in-house skills, and conquer new markets.
